There are a ton of books I wish I'd written, of course, but rather than just flood these answers with NEIL GAIMAN, I thought I'd mix it up a bit. This book by Meredith Ann Pierce changed my whole world view when I read it. An entire new universe, NO HUMANS, all from the POV of unicorns. Awesome.
